This weekend a group of friends went down to Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado. The Dunes were windy, wet and cold this weekend. It made for some unique perspectives of the dunes.

San Juan Skyway

Last week I spent some time in the south western area of Colorado. Here are a couple images from the trip.

Cold Weather Biking

This morning I rode my bike into work. It was about 12 miles of snow and ice covered roads. The Flatirons were thinly covered in snow and the sky was blue. By the time I made it into work my face was covered in mud and I couldn’t see out of my glasses. It was great.

Heading home that evening in the dark was even better. In the dark I end up using other senses than visual and rely a little less on details. The moon was thin and falling below the Flatirons, the cows were black blurs wandering dim white pastures. It inspired me to try and take more night images; to react to scenes in a visceral way. To react to life in a more visceral way.
